Non-Denom Glory

In the crook of fallen fir twigs,

water beads.

On them, the sky breaks bright:

light shock, sun splinter, glass dazzle.

Just so,

in the scheme of things

how -- and why -- I'm.

  1. Such a perfect self image...and rightly so. Love this.

And Dianne Reeves? Saw her perform here in Rochester at the Eastman Theatre several years ago: Glass dazzle indeed!

  3. Trulywise,

I agree, the sense of life is in the hoods, the waterfall and the rays of light...

  5. Everything a haiku should do, without the syllable counting. Timeless, intimate and beautiful.

  6. Rick,

Thanks! And Dianne Reeves may very well be one of the 'enduring ones'!

  7. Barbara,

Something comfortable about looking at 'the small' and seeing value in it. You may be giving me too much credit by extending zen appreciation.

'The East', by which I don't mean to refer to New England, does intrigue me. And the poetic forms can be striking.

  8. Isabelle,

By considering what I say in any wise 'wise' is to risk your karma.

May one of the 300,000 Hindu gods protect you! (In the woods or in the city).

  9. Suz,

If I've 'trained' myself in any writing, it might be said I've done so in description.

This cameo was meant to be a peaceful instant -- glad it worked for you.

    (I enjoyed the contraction too -- 'in-your-face' emphasis I couldn't resist).

  10. Joy,

Yes. Haiku-esque. Something about my mentality finds 'exactitude' constraining. It tends to derail me, though sometimes I slide along with it.

So 'living with the flavor' of something, if I do it right, is my comfort.
